Unfortunately, not all of the dishes on the menu are released for consumption. According to the service staff, beef dishes are too expensive to buy to be able to present and serve them to the guest at the price offered in the menu. Tip: Increase prices or reduce the menu items. Otherwise, the atmosphere in front of the restaurant is cozy and pleasant in good weather. The operating staff are self-confident and quick-witted, but appropriately friendly and polite to the guest. The owner of the house, whom we got to know, is without a doubt a better picture than the tenant or chef. But there is certainly a lot that can be improved. As long as the menu is limited to the pork-heavy offer, more demanding guests will surely switch to other restaurants. It's a shame, because you can get more quality out of this inn and contribute to the preservation of this beautiful location.
Great ambience, friendly staff, good kitchen service, price / performance ratio is right
Lovely place , delicious sausages ??
Very good meal, beautiful presentation. The terrace on the small square is nice with a beautiful building, fast service I recommend
One of the best restaurants in Frankfurt. The service is super friendly and always tries to read the guest's every wish from the eyes. Nevertheless, he manages to be unobtrusive at the same time. The food is fresh and the ingredients are high quality. For example, there is a currywurst with a very tasty, slightly fruity curry sauce. In addition, three curries in different degrees of heat. The schnitzel is the most tender thing I've ever eaten and is beautifully fried. The potato soup is seasoned to the point and tastes great. Just go there yourself and try it out, it's worth it.
Saturday evening, 9:45 p.m. Outside area still well filled. Five minutes after our order came the bill. If you want to close the shop, you shouldn't even sit down and take orders. Incredible. I would also recommend changing the opening times (supposedly open until 00:00) if you intend to close 2 hours earlier.
We had a quick meal at Wirtshaus. Service was good and food was nice. We had Chicken Schnitzel and Curry Wurst, it was nice to try some local German food ?
Today I was with my girlfriend at the street food action of the coffee roastery that is opposite the local. We sat down at one of the free tables there and didn't know that the table belonged to the pub. After about 20 minutes we were suddenly turned away from the seat by a dark-haired waitress with a deeply unfriendly tone. We didn't feel we were worth anything and were totally shocked by the behavior of the waitress. Something like that is really the very last thing and has shaped us so much that I am very frightened, independently without really knowing the local, and the behavior cannot be excused. My friend had even searched the conversation again to get rid of the whole thing personally, but she reacted as before coldly and condescendingly even though she is a person like everyone else. Because of your behavior, I had no choice but to complain, so I ask you to take this seriously and ask for the interview yourself. We now have the impression that only certain people are allowed to visit the local and, to be honest, find that very, very bad.
Much very against. Dishes are, more than once, served incomplete. Quality poor. Stood too long before they got to the table. Quite expensive and you should certainly not be in a hurry. Unfortunately! No tip.
Thank you for a very nice evening! Great food, great service, excellent atmosphere! We'll be back !!! ???
An enrichment for the newly created Frankfurt old town. Very nice restaurant, with good food, a lot of Frankfurt specialties and a really nice and efficient service. I have never eaten such a beautifully presented pig fax!
Great service, delicious regional food and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Great food, great service, great location ?*****
Very lovely place
A good place where you can taste German cuisine in the center of Frankfurt. The neighborhood has been completely rebuilt in recent years of its primitive forms, after being occupied for decades by some public buildings built after the war following the bombing. The environment is typical and although reconstructed quite classic. The cuisine is good, we tasted goulash with spaetzle and some knoedel species in mushroom cream. Probably because of its central location the price is not the most convenient ..!
Excellent traditional German food. Very friendly staff on arrival. Very clean and bright interior. Beer on tap was very tasty. Food was delivered quickly. Presentation is excellent. Good sized portions with wonderful flavors. A bit pricey but quality of food is excellent. Highly recommend.
There is a lot of German food, but this is not too classic, it is a little modern and very delicious! The price is slightly higher than other German restaurants, but with a slight difference it is so delicious and easy to enter. Recommended!
The food is amazing, but service needs improvement. We asked for the menu to choose a glass of wine, instead waitress said there was only one red rine available by the glass, usually when it happens it tends to be the house wine, but for our surprise it was a 13€ red wine glass, whereas the bottle didn't cost more the 40€. Very steep and unnecessary as we'd happily would have prefered to take the bottle.
Overpriced and terrible food, terrible service. Just want tourists in take there money and move onto the next sap who walks in. Goulash was tough and tasteless, when we complained got told "yep" and then off they went.
Price is too high for the quality received. Service was slow.
The perfect restaurant in the perfect spot. The food is really traditional and tasty, our waitress was nice and gave us a lot of suggestions. Go and check by yourselves!
Big compliment! We love to eat well! Having been to Frankfurt so often, but never at the Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt. I / we were and are still impressed! Great ambience, fine food selection, competent wine advice, excellent personal attentive service (my name was Aaron)! Highly recommended, be sure to book and be pampered!
Quality of the food is good but not related to the high price, also service was poor and staff requested 10% tip, feels not good, not recommended!
Great service. Excellent goose and perfect ambiente.
Nice regional food
Own beer!
Very lovely food
Nice place but 7,80 euro for a bottle of water is absolutly too much...
Great food, good service. A really nice place that I do recommend.
Very good Apfelwine
Great place for German food in the heart of Frankfurt. It's a bit more expensive than a regular German restaurant but the quality makes up for it. Really tasty.
Delicious food in a pretty awesome setting. Kind, fast and helpful staff members. Prices quite accessible even when they are in a hot tourist spot in Frankfurt. Love the place.
Not ideal for tourists. Staff not friendly and helpful, especially to tourists looking to try out and enjoy their local authentic cuisine. A little smile and guidance will go a long way. The restaurant look and feel is great and so is their beer.
I had the Frankfurt Schnitzel. One of the best I had recently. Think and soft and the sauce was perfect.
Loved the mini salami
Delicious ans typical food in the Frankfurt city center. A good place to taste german dishes.
Very good service.
We do come to this place very often coming to this place because They offer the best quality German food anyone can get in the old city. Though every time it is a big disappointment with the service. Most unfriendly and careless staff. Always hectic, always long faces and you can hear the discussions between each other. Their service does not match the quality of the food nor the place or prices. the staff is just for a fast food restaurant . And despite the kids menu , they are just not prepared to deal with children . No ammenities, no priority when it comes to take the order .. actually parents get served last. Is more focus for a touristic place .
The venue itself is lovely, right in the middle of the newly developed old town. Prices were below tourist rates, it did feel like a place the locals meet. Food though was average. We had the asparagus which was still crunchy, and the potatoes weren't much better. The veal schnitzel was okay and so was the salad with chicken schnitzel, though it was not well presented and everything just heaped on the plate, and the "warm potato salad" was actually cold. Wine selection was a bit limited, for wine by the glass there's three pinot noir to choose from plus one house wine without specifications (but it may well be a pinot as well).
The cheeses were utterly pheromonal and the chocolate cake was good too. The green sauce was not my favorite and neither was the pancake dessert. Although the menu was a little hot and miss, overall the experience was great and everyone had a great time
I tried pork ribs with sour cabbage sauce, satisfied with the taste and big portion ?
Although everything is still new and therefore still a worn coziness with patina on the furniture is missing, I like the inn very much! The location is brilliant and the staff is attentive, quick and friendly. And the food was a hit tonight, the Schnitzel a dream. I would have liked to try a lot more dishes from the menu, so I'll definitely come back! However, you also need a filled wallet.
Fantastic green sauce A great location on a wonderful place in Frankfurt's old town. Traditional dishes of excellent quality and a courteous staff. I will gladly come again!
Although the restaurant is more of a tourist point of call, I highly recommend the food there. Everything we ordered was delicious. Soup, snow flurries, salad, schnitzel or roulade. Everything was great. The service very friendly and accommodating. Is worth another visit!
Great food, great service, great location - I love it
A delicious green sauce dish, as well as a delicious dessert "Mohr im Hemd" the whole in a newly renovated downtown Frankfurt. the tavern is currently in the middle of a renovation, the service does not suffer. Highly recommended!!!
A good experience
Everything tasted good, prices are a bit high, but in the situation you can understand. Service was also friendly
Good price / performance of a Frankfurt "national dish" green sauce. All dishes beautifully prepared and delicious. Very nice service, at one point or another not quite finished.
Good and cozy place for socializing with colleagues
